Join us in a guided death meditation and talk led by death doula, Amanda Meeks.
Death meditations and contemplations deepen our appreciation of our mortality and lessen death anxiety. This will be a beginner friendly intro into death meditations, followed by a reflective writing activity and discussion. Attendees are encouraged to bring a pillow, blanket, or mat to sit or lay on.
Amanda Meeks (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist, librarian, educator, and end-of-life doula. Their creative practice includes creating zines and book art about love/grief, life/death, and feminist care. As a librarian, Amanda engages the community around DIY publishing through their zine bike, known as Outspokin’ & Bookish, and zine library pop-ups. As an end-of-life doula, they offer grief support, pre-planning or advance directives, and creative legacy projects.
