Join Equality Arizona for a series of programs on a variety of topics with experts in the field.
January: Drag Culture, Then and Now
We’ll talk with a panel of experts about the history of drag, the shape of drag culture in Arizona, and how drag performers are responding to the current moment of increased harassment and violence.
February: Religion and LGBTQ+ Life
We’ll talk with an interfaith panel about religious perspectives on sex, gender, and sexuality, and explore how different individuals and communities incorporate LGBTQ+ experiences into their faith traditions.
March: LGBTQ+ Criminalization and Incarceration
We’ll talk with a panel of people with real insight into Arizona’s criminal justice system about the experiences of LGBTQ+ people in our courts, jails, and prisons. The LGBTQ+ community is disproportionately incarcerated, and LGBTQ+ individuals face discipline and solitary confinement on the basis of their identities, often as a matter of policy.
Our mission is to inspire exploration, discovery, enrichment, and engagement.
