Come experience the violin and play some musical games with local performer and educator, Kate Bivona. Kate will be playing a couple of short selections, talking about different violin traditions, and playing musical ear training and improvisation games.
Kate Bivona has a widely varied career as a classically-trained violinist, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, writer, and educator. She is head of the local band Dirt Skirt, has spent several years performing with and recording for local bands, and she teaches private violin lessons. Kate is passionate about both performance and education, believing that music is a wonderful means of connection, creativity, and joy. She holds a Bachelors in Music degree from Arizona State University and a Masters in Music degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
